South Carolina Quilts of Valor

Home

South Carolina Quilts of Valor is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization making quilts for America's service men and women who have been injured in the line of duty.  It is associated with the QOV Foundation, a national organization based in Delaware.  The South Carolina group is made up of about 50 individuals primarily from the Charleston area.

Quilts of Valor are lap quilts approximately 50" x 60" in size which are pieced and quilted by local quilters.  The completed quilts are labeled with the maker's name and city/state before being shipped to chaplains at military hospitals across the nation and overseas.  The quilts are often "blessed" by the chaplains before being presented to injured service members.

If you would like to participate in this effort, there are a number of ways in which you can do so.  You can make a quilt; or purchase thread, fabric, or batting for a quilt.  You can make a monetary donation, or help with presentations.  Several individuals have chosen to sponsor the making of a quilt as a memorial to a loved one.
